House lockouts — non-destructive entry whenever possible. We try not to drill anything we don't have to.
Rekey existing locks — same hardware, new keys, old keys stop working. Great after move-in or roommate changes.
Lock change / replacement — install new deadbolts, knobs, levers from Schlage, Kwikset, Yale, and similar.
Smart locks — install and set up Schlage Encode, August, Yale Assure, Kwikset Halo, and other common brands.
Broken key extraction — get the broken half out and re-cut your key.
Sticking / failing locks — diagnose, lubricate, repin, or replace as needed.
Strike plate & door alignment — small fixes that make a misaligned deadbolt actually work.
Mailbox & sliding door locks — odd hardware nobody else wants to touch.

Common Situations

You just moved in

Rekeying every exterior lock is the cheapest peace-of-mind investment a new homeowner or renter can make. You don't know who has copies of the old keys — the previous owners' kids, contractors, dog walkers, the agent's lockbox.

You lost a key

If a labeled key with your address is missing (gym bag, parking lot, kid's backpack), rekey. Don't just hope it shows up.

You're a landlord between tenants

We do batch rekeys for property managers — usually all exterior doors keyed the same, with a fresh set of keys delivered.

The deadbolt is sticking

Often this is dirt, worn pins, or a misaligned strike plate. We can usually fix it for less than a new lock.

Honest tip: Builder-grade locks (the cheap ones in new construction) are technically functional but easy to bypass. If your home only has them, upgrading the front and back deadbolts to a Grade 1 or Grade 2 lock is a small investment with a real security difference.

What to Have Ready

Photo ID and something showing you live there (lease, utility bill, mortgage statement). For lockouts we don't expect you to dig through papers from the curb — we'll work with you. Documentation matters most for rekeys and lock changes.
